A new expert scientific report fuels hope of lasting successes in the fight against dangerous germs in hospitals which, following the death of several premature babies at a hospital in Bremen, are once again hitting the headlines. In light of a dramatic increase in the number of infections caused by MRSA pathogens in Germany, the qualified biologist Dr. Thomas Jahns presented a research paper in which he analysed the "potential of antimicrobially effective surfaces for reducing the transfer of pathogens".

On Thursday 24th November 2011, the Saarland company, Nanopool®,  was named the overall national winner in the contest,,365 places in the land of Ideas”.

In health care facilities hospital germs are a very big danger, especially the number of infections by the MRSA-pathogen (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) has increased dramatically in Germany.
